Faded Tints are a new style of tinted number plates, currently supplied exclusively in England by Platezilla. These plates feature a gradual tint effect that can fade either from top to bottom or from bottom to top. When placing your order, please specify in the notes which fade direction you prefer. If no preference is given, the plates will be produced with a top-to-bottom fade by default.

Please note: tinted number plates are darker than standard road-legal plates and are not road legal. They are intended for display use only.

Note on Tinted Number Plates – UK Regulations

Please be aware that under UK law, number plates must be clearly visible and legible at all times. This means:

Tinted number plates that reduce visibility or legibility may not comply with the Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001.

Plates must conform to British Standard BS AU 145e, including correct font, spacing, reflectivity, and visibility.

Non-compliant plates can lead to MOT failure, fines, and potential vehicle penalties from the police or DVLA.
